Brava, Hazel.

I found your post while researching women's willingness to spend on their own development and well being. I can directly correlate breaking through the barrier of genteel poverty into successful self-employment with investing in coaches and all manner of training.

I know it is scary to spend money on professional development, but it is essential. Make a list of the three or four top priorities for your business or career this year. Compare professional development opportunities against this list. When there's a match, check out the reputation of the person or organization before you decide to invest.

Spending on professional development is far more economical than reinventing the wheel and burning out. And there's a significant hidden bonus. When you invest in professional development, you connect with others, tapping into webs of information, insight, and support that just aren't available when you do it all yourself.

Thanks for a great post.

Great reminder to continue learning, growing and sharpening your skill-set.

I am grateful to be a passionately curious woman.

Hiring a mentor coach was one of the best decisions I've made for True Balance. Professional Coaching keeps me sharp and focused.

Cheers!
