Reclaim Your Dreams – A Review

“All dream, but unequally. Those that dream at night
in the dusty recesses of their minds awake the next day
to find that their dreams were just vanity. But those
who dream during the day with their eyes wide open
are dangerous people; they act out their dreams to make
them reality.” —Thomas Lawrence

My friend and prolific blogger, Jonathan Mead just completed a new ebook titled Reclaim Your Dreams – An Uncommon Guide to Living Life on Your Own Terms.

I love this topic and thoroughly enjoyed reading Jonathan’s take on the courage to reinvent yourself.

From the ebook ….

“If we look outside, we can glimpse the possibility of our dreams. When we look within, we awaken to our personal potential. This is a book about looking inward and outward… an invitation to
dreaming awake with eyes wide open.”

Here are just a few of the things that Reclaim Your Dreams will teach you:

  • Define Your Dreams – Dreams are fickle creatures and can be hard to tie down, but with a little effort you can do it. Identifying is the first step on the way to achieving and this book will give you the tools to do just that.
  • Overcome Uncertainty – You probably wonder at some level whether dreams are practical or just ridiculous. You may not necessarily doubt the dream itself, but the uncertainty that comes with working towards it. You fear your limitations. You fear your weaknesses. Reclaim Your Dreams will show you that conventional wisdom is really just a big, fat collective assumption. Dreams are possible and Reclaim Your Dreams will show you step by step just how to make them take root in the world.
  • Wake Up Happy – While there are the elusive few like yourself who dare to dream, there are others who would seek to bring you down. You’ll learn how to overcome the naysayers and how to start being excited about your life again.

Reclaim Your Dreams is an unconventional guide that will inspire you to step up and live in the moment.

[...] He hit the nail on the head with those statements, this book really does grab you and shakes you about until you realise that you’re not actually living your life. Watching what other people do on TV, Reading about what other people do on Blogs, Listening to what other people do with Music. We read about it, hear it, see it, want it, but don’t act on it. The solution is all about getting out of your comfort zone and getting back in the driver’s seat of your life in stead of standing on the sidelines watching life flow by. You’re invited to dream and to make the dreams become reality even if they are ridiculous according to others. Who are they to judge you’re dreams? It’s your life and you’ll want to live it just the way you like it. Permission granted. Jonathan writes about the same mountains I’ve been writing about and how to tackle them.  How to take small steps and don’t look so much towards the top. Whatever we do, don’t let not knowing keep us from moving. Not knowing something is actually a natural state, it’s impossible to know everything. The only thing we know for sure in any venture is that somewhere along the way we will get confronted with not knowing. “If you only do two things – take consistent action and lose your fear of failure – you’ll already have a 95% chance of success. Guess what not fearing failure means? It means you can stop being paranoid about asking for what you want.” Fear of failure also comes from fearing the unknown, get comfortable with the unknown. Jonathan will also teach youhow you can go “social skydiving” and have a hard look at your lifestyle choices. The book contains enough exercises to keep you busy and more than enough food for thought to keep you busy for a lifetime. Yes, a lifetime, if you grasp what Jonathan is trying to convey. It’s very powerful and it’s ruthlessly honest. A wake-up call for the mind. You can get your copy at: http://illuminatedmind.net/reclaim-your-dreams Trust me, it will have an impact.
