Who would have thought? We needed some space for other things on a book shelf so I said I would help by clearing off some old VHS tapes. Well one thing lead to another and getting rid of clutter really had a mind of its own.
Not only did we clear out movies we kept “because we’ll watch them someday” but haven’t in over three or five or six years but we cleared clutter from the under the bed containers too. Craft books are also being donated that haven’t been opened in over five years. One book shelf is almost bare.
After seeing at how nice the shelves looked we said “why didn’t we take a before picture—who would have thought there would be such a big difference”? I recommend always taking a before and after photo of organizing projects.
We will get rid of more clutter as we have set a goal to watch some movies in the next two weeks and then getting rid of them and if we don’t watch them in that length of time just getting rid of them. There are some family videos that we will have transferred to a DVD so it will take up a lot less space.
Wow! Getting rid of clutter sure feels good! Do you agree?

Do you ever watch T.V.? I have five shows I watch and on weekends I watch movies if I can find the time. I have noticed the networks have started doing something that I find irritating and completely unnecessary.
Remember that big project I told you about—helping my daughter clear clutter while organizing her storage shed?
Happy birthday to my daughter Julie today!
I bought a new phone this weekend which is helping me get rid of clutter. Now you might wonder how a phone could help get rid of clutter but it has. Already it has saved me time and not cluttered my life with unnecessary phone calls.
I had a most delightful time Tuesday talking to a women’s group on time management. If you were to save 5 minutes a day x 7 days in the week that would =35 minutes x 4 weeks that would = 149 minutes which is over 2 hours a month x 52 weeks—that is a savings of over 30 hours in a year.
This is for my faithful blog readers. Monday I was on Studio 5 which is a morning T.V. show. It was on 10 tips for a successful garage sale. Now you are through with clearing clutter in your home it is time to make some money.
I had such a good time this weekend. I did some quick clutter control that only took a few minutes yet it brightened my weekend. I was in my utility room which is organized with the soap, prewash, and stain treatments all together and I have a Scentsey wickless candle fragrancing (is that a word? the room. But I had the thought to get rid of five things that were in plain sight.
I am one of millions who has heard Susan Boyle sing and what a beautiful voice she has. As you know she hit a bump in the road after the program “Britain’s Got Talent” and was hospitalized. But now she is out and is doing well. I am looking forward to buying her CD when it comes out.
